Holy Motors; a strange movie but a good one.
I think "Holy Motors" is one the strangest
movies I have ever seen on a screenplay. It was directed and written by a French
filmmaker known as Leos Carax (not his truly name). And I think the movie
represents all that Carax is capable of. That is, his poetic style and his
tortured depictions of love taken to a whole new level.
The movie tells the story of Mr. Oscar, a man trapped
in his own representation. We follow him in his limousine with Celine -the
driver- while he plays different roles in the city (not any city, it is Paris).
From dawn to dusk we are spectators how he journeys from one life to another.
Mr. Oscar it is at the same time an assassin, a beggar, a family man, a sexual
machine, etc. He attends to his appointments but there are no cameras, there are
no stages or back stages. We don´t really know the intention behind all this
performances.
Mr. Oscar is interpreted by Denis Lavant, and his
partner Celine is played by Édith Scob, also at the end a famous singer and
actress appears, I think you know her very well, she is Kylie Minogue.
So, if you are looking a different movie. I think I
have the best option for you. It hasn't arrived to the national screens, and
probably it never will. But there are a lot of torrents that has it in a big resolution.
So go straight to your laptop and download it.
